Cement Manufacturing Dry Process Plant Solution
Dry process cement manufacturing is a modern cement production technology that is energy-saving, efficient, and environmentally friendly. It is different from wet process cement production. The core technology of the dry process in cement manufacturing is to grind the raw materials into powder before calcining them. This can effectively reduce energy consumption and increase calcination efficiency. Our production line is automated and operates stably, producing high-quality cement.
AGICO leverages years of technical expertise to help you customize a reliable cement manufacturing dry process solution. We can also offer a highly efficient and environmentally friendly lime production line. Provide comprehensive technical support from cement production to lime production.
Advantages of the Dry process in Cement Manufacturing
Low energy consumption
The raw materials undergo most of their decomposition through preheating before entering the rotary kiln. The dry process in cement manufacturing consumes 40% less heat than the traditional method. This reduced fuel costs.
High efficiency
The pre-decomposition technology reduced the workload of the rotary kiln. A modern, new type of cement manufacturing dry process can achieve daily outputs of 5,000 tons, 8,000 tons, and 12,000 tons.
Wide adaptability
It uses drying and grinding equipment. Even if the raw materials contain moisture, they can be dried during the grinding process. The slag or fly ash can be used as raw materials. Reduce raw material costs.
Environmentally friendly
The entire production line has good sealing performance. It has optimized calcination conditions. So the dust emissions are low. The entire process does not require the use of water to prepare the slurry, thus avoiding the generation of wastewater.
Cement Manufacturing Dry Process Flow
—— The core of the dry process in cement manufacturing is first grind into powder, then calcinate. To achieve modern large-scale production characterized by high output, stable quality, low energy consumption, and minimal pollution.
- Raw material processing: Raw materials transported from the mine are coarsely and finely crushed using equipment such as a jaw stone crusher or impact crusher. Then, a stacker-reclaimer is used to stack the materials in batches.
- Raw material preparation: Place the raw materials into the vertical grinding mill according to the specified proportions. While grinding, the high-temperature exhaust gas from the rotary kiln tail is used for drying. Then, conveying equipment such as bucket elevators and conveyors are used to send the raw materials into the raw material homogenization silo.
- Raw material homogenization: After the raw materials enter the pneumatic homogenization silo, By using pneumatic mixing and circulation, fluctuations in the composition of raw materials are further eliminated.
- Preheating and decomposition: The raw materials enter the preheater and are preheated by the high-temperature flue gas discharged from the rotary kiln. At this time, the raw material temperature is 800-900℃. The preheated raw materials enter the decomposition furnace, where approximately 90-95% of the calcium carbonate decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide.
- Calcination: The decomposed raw materials enter the rotary kiln. At a high temperature of 1350-1450℃, the remaining calcium carbonate is completely decomposed. Ultimately, it becomes cement clinker with calcium silicate as the main mineral.
- Cool down: The calcined clinker is discharged from the kiln tail and immediately enters the cooler. The clinker was cooled to around 100°C. The heat generated during the cooling process is recovered.
- Cement grinding: The cooled clinker, along with a certain proportion of gypsum and other mixed materials, is fed into a limestone ball mill for grinding. Finally, the finished cement is sent to a warehouse for storage or packaged.
Cement Manufacturing Dry Process Core Equipment
—— AGICO guarantees to provide customers with high-quality original equipment.
It is used for drying and grinding of raw materials. The hot air drawn in by the preheater is used to dry the powder while it is being ground. It has the advantages of low power consumption, a small footprint, and high efficiency.
It consists of cyclones connected in series. The material and the high-temperature exhaust gas undergo countercurrent heat exchange inside. Cyclone preheaters greatly recover and utilize waste heat from exhaust gases. Effectively reduces energy consumption.
3. Decomposition furnace
The decomposition furnace is the core of the cement manufacturing dry process. The decomposition process is moved out of the rotary kiln. This effectively reduced the load on the rotary kiln.
The pre-decomposed raw meal undergoes the remaining decomposition in a rotary kiln. Rotary kilns are essential equipment for the final formation of cement clinker. It determines the quality of the product.
Cement Manufacturing Dry Process VS Cement Manufacturing Wet Process
Cement Manufacturing Dry Process
Dry process cement manufacturing is the mainstream technology in modern cement production. Its core technology is that the raw materials are dried and ground before entering the rotary kiln. The energy consumption of clinker firing is reduced to 700-750 kcal/kg. It has advantages such as high production efficiency, controllable dust emissions, and no wastewater.
- Rotary kiln is short and thick
- Large production capacity
- High thermal efficiency
- Stable product quality
Cement Manufacturing Wet Process
The cement manufacturing wet process is adding water to raw materials to create a slurry containing 32%-40% water. This ensures the raw materials are mixed evenly and reduces grinding power consumption. However, this requires the material to consume a huge amount of heat energy in the rotary kiln to evaporate the moisture. This leads to increased fuel costs and energy waste.
- Rotary kiln is slender and long
- High water consumption
- Low production efficiency
- Product quality is average
