Magnesium Oxide Production Plant ( MgO Production Plant) Solution
A magnesium oxide production plant primarily processes magnesite, through calcination to produce high-quality magnesium oxide products. It is widely used in refractory materials, metallurgy, the chemical industry, and environmental protection. AGICO provides customers with one-stop solutions for magnesium oxide production plants, from raw material crushing, calcination, and grinding to packaging. AGICO can offer Caustic Calcined Magnesite (CCM) plants and Dead Burned Magnesite (DBM) plants. By utilizing advanced magnesite rotary kilns or vertical kilns, we help clients achieve superior product quality, low energy consumption, and continuous production.
Raw Materials for MgO Production
Magnesium oxide production line can use a variety of raw materials containing magnesium oxide, depending on the different production process and finished product requirements. Magnesite and dolomite are the most commonly used.
Types of Magnesium Oxide Production
Features:
- Calcination Temperature: 700–1000°C.
- Caustic calcined magnesite has features of high reactivity and stable chemical properties.
- It is widely used in the chemical, building materials, and environmental protection industries.
- Key Equipment: Magnesite rotary kiln and vertical kiln.
Features:
- Calcination Temperature: 1600–2000°C.
- Dead Burned Magnesite has good fire resistance and corrosion resistance.
- It is an important raw material for the refractory materials industry.
- Key Equipment: Magnesite rotary kiln and vertical kiln.
Calcined Magnesium Oxide Process Flow
1. Crushing Stage: Magnesite and dolomite enter the crushing equipment. Large pieces of raw material are crushed into suitable sizes. To avoid particles being too large and affecting heat-exchange efficiency during calcination.
2. Calcination Stage: Calcination is the most important stage of the entire process flow. At high temperatures, the raw materials undergo decomposition reactions. The calcination temperature can be regulated according to different product types. The quality of calcination determines the activity and purity of the finished product.
3. Cooling Stage: The calcined material must enter a cooling system for rapid cooling. It typically use a rotary cooler or a vertical cooler. This process can recover some heat energy, thus improving energy efficiency.
4. Grinding Stage: If a client requires powdered magnesium oxide products, the production line can also provide grinding processing. Commonly used equipment includes ball mills, raymond mills, and vertical grinding mills. The fineness of grinding can be adjusted according to different requirements.
5. Dust Removal Stage: A large amount of dust is generated during the production process, and the baghouse dust collector can effectively collect the dust generated during the production process. Ensure that emissions meet environmental protection standards.
6. Packaging Stage: After passing inspection, the finished magnesium oxide enters the packaging system. Customers can choose between small-pouch packaging and bulk packaging, depending on their needs.

Mature Magnesium Oxide Production Plant ( MgO Production Plant) Solution
AGICO helps customers achieve green factories and sustainable development by optimizing processes and equipment configurations.
Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction: Our magnesium oxide production line uses advanced waste heat recovery system. The high-temperature waste gas generated during the calcination process can be recovered and then used to preheat the raw materials. Fuel consumption is reduced by 15% to 25%. And our production line has incorporated a fully automated DCS central control system. Reduce carbon emissions resulting from improper manual operations.
Meets Environmental Standards: The crushing, screening, and grinding stages are used closed-system operation. We equipped with a baghouse dust collector at multiple locations. The dust capture rate reaches 99%. The magnesium oxide dust collected by the dust collector is automatically recycled to the finished product bin. Achieve resource circulation and zero waste.
