- Raw Material Pre-processing
A quick lime production plant uses high-quality limestone as raw material, high-quality limestone has higher CaO content and lower impurity content. Using a stacker reclaimer machine to stack the limestone uniformly. Then, the limestone is fed into a limestone crusher ( jaw stone crusher, hammer stone crusher, cone stone crusher, impact crusher). The large-size limestone is crushed dimensions suitable for calcination, generally under 50mm, which facilitates the next step of calcination. Through circular vibrating screen or linear vibrating screen to Sieving limestone of different grain sizes, ensure calcination uniformity.
- Calcination
Calcination is the most important step in a quick lime production plant, it is the key aspect to ensuring the productivity and quality of quick lime. The fuels that are calcined at the quick lime production plant are natural gas, coke gas, coal, carbide furnace gas, etc. Limestone entering the kiln, preheating of limestone using high-temperature exhaust gases from kiln discharge. Starts to decompose when it enters the high-temperature zone, the temperature up to 1100°C. Commonly used kilns are annular lime kilns, twin shaft lime kilns, double beam lime kilns, and limestone rotary kilns. After calcination, quick lime will be rapidly cooled down by a cooling system. - Finished Product Handling
Calcined quicklime needs to be further processed at the quicklime production plant. Quicklime needs to be stored in sealed or dry warehouses, which prevents exposure to water. Quicklime has different particle sizes, using a circular vibrating screen or linear vibrating screen to sieve out quicklime of different particle sizes. The quicklime will be packaged and transported according to different particle sizes. Customers or industries have particular requirements for forms of quicklime, we can grind quicklime to the right fineness using a limestone grinding mill.
