Double Beam Lime Kilns Plant

Two-layer Burning Beam
The inner part of the double beam lime kiln is divided into two upper and lower burner beams. The burners distribute the fuel evenly over the cross-section of the kiln, which helps to calcine the limestone evenly, reduce the probability of overburning the limestone, and increase the activity of the lime.
Bidirectional Pressure System
Double beam lime kilns adopt a two-way pressure system. It can accurately control the pressure of the combustion airflow and the cooling airflow to ensure the best mixing ratio of fuel and air and avoid airflow turbulence and temperature fluctuations that affect calcination efficiency and quality.
Fuel Mixing
The fuel used by double beam lime kilns can be coke oven gas, calcium carbide furnace tail gas, natural gas, heavy oil, coal powder, and other fuels in the steel industry. The most important thing is that it can use mixed fuel gas composed of various fuels (gas + gas, gas + liquid, and other mixtures).
Heat Recovery System
Double beam lime kilns are excellent heat exchangers that can preheat the primary air through flue gas and the secondary air through cooling lime. They can also dispose of the waste gas in the kiln, reduce the emission of harmful gases, protect the environment, and produce environmentally friendly products.
Working Principle of Double Beam Lime Kilns
- Material Storage Zone
The material storage zone is located at the top of the kiln body. The control system automatically adjusts the feeding speed according to the kiln operation to ensure conveying efficiency. The material storage zone has enough space to store limestone. When the feeding device needs maintenance, it will not affect the normal operation of the double beam lime kilns.
- Preheating Zone
Located below the storage zone, it is lined with refractory materials. After the limestone enters the preheating zone, it comes into contact with the heat of the exhaust gas from the cooling zone. At the same time, the preheating zone is equipped with a burner to preheat the limestone to 800 °C, improve the combustion efficiency, and prepare for calcination.
- Calcination Zone
The calcination zone is the core part of the double beam lime kilns and is also the most important process in lime production. The kiln body is also equipped with refractory materials and one or more burners. The fuel burns in the calcination zone, generating a high temperature of 1200-1300°C, decomposing the limestone into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. CaCO3→CaO+CO2.
- Post-calcination Zone
The calcined lime is heated more evenly in the post-calcination zone to ensure that all lime particles reach the required temperature. After the waste gas from the post-calcination zone is treated, part of it flows back to the preheating zone for heat recovery and to reduce fuel consumption.
- Cooling Zone
The calcined lime is in a high-temperature state. It is cooled to room temperature by contact with cold air in the cooling zone. The high temperature generated during cooling is sent back to the preheating zone to preheat the next batch of limestone. The cooled lime is discharged through the discharge port.
