The chain plate is the main conveying component that comes into direct contact with the material. It is usually made of high-strength material. These chain plates are connected by bolts and nuts, They overlap to form a continuous, moving conveying surface. The shape and thickness of the chain plate can be replaced according to the nature of the material.

The chain wheel is usually forged or cast from high-strength alloy steel, the tooth shape meshes perfectly with the chain. And equipped with a hydraulic or screw tensioning device to adjust the chain tightness. The sprocket can be replaced section by section without disassembling other parts, which is convenient for local maintenance.  

The chain is the main traction and load-bearing component, it consists of a series of interconnected links. It has extremely high tensile strength and fatigue resistance. The chain moves in a circular motion driven by the driving sprocket, thereby driving the skirt plate attached to it forward to achieve continuous conveying of materials.

The rollers mainly play the role of support and guidance. It is usually installed below the apron feeder rack. When the apron feeder starts working, the roller reduces the movement resistance by rolling itself. And prevent excessive friction and wear between the chain plate and the frame. So the quality of the scroll wheel is very important.

Working Principle of Apron Feeder

The material to be transported falls from the silo or hopper above the apron feeder onto the chain plate of the apron feeder. At this time, the drive device transmits power to the drive sprocket. The teeth of the drive sprocket mesh precisely with the links of the chain, driving the chain forward. Because the sprocket is fixed to the chain, the sprocket rotates with it. The materials carried on the chain are transported forward smoothly and evenly. The unloaded empty chain plate will return to the feeding end of the apron feeder along the return path below, forming a closed loop.
