A limestone rotary kiln, also called a lime rotary kiln, is a kind of large-scale equipment in lime production, with a simple structure, mainly composed of three parts, which are preheater, rotary kiln, and cooler. The limestone is transformed into quicklime through the process of calcination at 1100±50°C high temperature. The activity degree of the finished product is effectively guaranteed at 360-400ml. Equipped with a vertical preheater and vertical cooler, the limestone rotary kiln is capable of large-scale continuous operation and high efficiency, with a production capacity of 50-1200 t/d and a limestone feed size of 20-40 mm. The limestone rotary kiln has low energy consumption, with a heat consumption of about 1200 kcal/kg of lime. It is also highly adaptable to fuel types such as natural gas, coke oven gas, pulverized coal, and many others. Advantages of Limestone Rotary Kiln

Limestone Rotary Kiln Working Principle
The limestone rotary kiln is mainly divided into three parts which are the preheater, rotary kiln, and cooler. The limestone is preheated in the preheater, calcined in the rotary kiln, and cooled in the cooler. As a heating device, the lime rotary kiln is machined from high-quality steel and the lime rotary kiln is added with high-quality refractory material.
- Preheating
Limestone from the silo through the downstream chute into the preheater, by the preheater and rotary kiln end of the high-temperature flue gas will be preheated to more than 800 ℃ limestone. At this time the limestone is decomposed by 30%, and the limestone will be pushed into the rotary kiln by a hydraulic rod for calcination. The exhaust gas enters the exhaust gas treatment system at the end of the kiln.
- Calcination
The preheated limestone is fed into the kiln by a chute for calcination. The kiln is inclined and rotated slowly at a temperature of 1000°C-1300°C to ensure that the limestone is completely decomposed to form quicklime.
- Cooling
The lime calcined by high temperature falls into the vertical cooler, the cooling air is blown in by the external fan, enters the wind cover through the wind chamber, contacts with the high-temperature lime clinker, and cools down the lime to the ambient temperature of +60℃ below the discharge of the vertical cooler. The hot air is sent into the rotary kiln for secondary combustion and utilization.
