Annular Lime Kilns Plant
Annular lime kilns are a type of vertical shaft lime kiln, also called an annular shaft kiln. Annular lime kilns are one of the most popular equipment in the lime production industry. It is widely used in various industries due to its unique annular structure and efficient heat recovery process. annular lime kilns consist of an inner tube and an outer tube. The kiln body is divided into a preheating zone, a countercurrent calcining zone, a parallel current calcining zone, and a cooling zone from top to bottom, forming an annular space in the middle, and limestone is calcined in the annular area. Unlike other vertical shaft lime kilns, the annular lime kilns use both countercurrent calcination and parallel current calcination, thus ensuring the calcination uniformity of the limestone.
The maximum daily productivity of AGICO annular lime kilns has reached 600 tons. The lime kiln uses thermal energy to the maximum extent, with the maximum heat consumption not exceeding 950kcal/kg. The activity of the lime product produced is greater than 360ml, and the amount of carbon dioxide involved is no more than 2%. The annular lime kilns optimized and improved by AGICO can be operated continuously for 48 weeks per year. Therefore, it is widely used in metallurgy, the chemical industry, papermaking, building materials, and other industries. Customers can choose the appropriate fuel according to their investment cost, improving production benefits.
Advantages of AGICO Annular Lime Kilns
High Performance
The annular shaft kiln is equipped with an advanced heat recovery system, which uses waste heat to calcine the limestone that enters the kiln body for the second time, reducing heat consumption, improving energy utilization, and thus reducing fuel costs. This high-efficiency design is especially important in areas where fuel prices fluctuate greatly.
Even Heat Distribution
The unique ring design of the annular shaft kiln, which has both countercurrent calcination and parallel current calcination, ensures that the pressure, airflow, and heat are evenly distributed throughout the kiln body, so that the limestone is heated evenly during the calcination process, thereby improving the calcination efficiency.
Low Cost
The annular shaft kiln is a type of vertical shaft lime kiln, that occupies a small area, so the site cost required for investment is low. The kiln has a superior design and simple kiln structure, which is easy to maintain, reducing downtime and maintenance costs and ensuring production efficiency.
Flexible Production
Customers can decide on fuel options based on actual conditions and cost budgets, effectively control costs, and maximize benefits. The daily production volume can also be adjusted according to demand to flexibly respond to changes in market demand.
Working Principle of Annular Lime Kilns
- Preheating Zone
The preheating zone is the first major process in the production of lime in annular lime kilns after the feed is introduced. At this time, the high-temperature exhaust gas from the calcining zone enters the preheating zone, and the heat in the exhaust gas is used to heat the limestone, so that the heat of the limestone is close to the calcining temperature, preparing for the next calcining process, which can improve the calcining efficiency and reduce the loss of fuel. The temperature of the preheated limestone is as high as 600-800℃.
- Calcination Zone
The most important process of lime production is here. The upper part of the calcination zone is countercurrent calcination, where the hot air flows in the opposite direction of the limestone. At this time, the limestone decomposes, but the limestone needs to absorb a lot of heat in the early stage of decomposition, so overburning generally does not occur. The lower part of the calcining zone is calcined in the downstream direction, and the hot gas and limestone flow downward, and the limestone is fully burned at this time. The design of the annular lime kilns avoids the problem of local overheating or insufficient calcination, thereby improving product quality.
- Cooling Zone
In the cooling zone, the quicklime is quickly cooled by cold air exchange, which is convenient for transportation. At the same time, the cold air is preheated, and the preheated cold air becomes hot air, which can be used to re-calcine limestone, improving combustion efficiency and overall thermal energy utilization.
- Heat Recovery System
The key to the high efficiency of the annular lime kilns is the heat recovery system. The heat recycling between the preheating zone and the cooling zone makes full use of the waste heat in the exhaust gas, reduces fuel consumption, and thus reduces production costs.
