Alumina Calcination Production Line Solution
The alumina calcination production line calcines raw materials such as aluminum hydroxide and bauxite into high-purity alumina. This production line mainly uses rotary kilns for calcination. Finished high-purity alumina is widely used in ceramics, refractory materials, abrasives, and other fields. Alumina calcination production line has the advantages of low energy consumption, stable product quality, environmental friendliness, and high automation etc.
AGICO’s alumina calcination production line solution is an EPC scheme. It includes an integrated process encompassing process design, equipment manufacturing, installation and commissioning, and operation training. It is essential that customers achieve high returns in terms of product quality, operating costs, and environmental compliance.
Advantages of Alumina Calcination Production Line
Stable product quality
The material is heated uniformly in a suspended state, ensuring consistent and uniform heating. The alumina calcination production line can precisely control the calcination temperature and residence time. So the product quality has stability and uniformity.
Automated production
The Alumina calcination production line can achieve full automation from start-up, shutdown, operation, to quality control. It reduces the difficulty of manual operation. It ensures the stability and continuity of the production process.
Environmentally friendly
The alumina calcination production line has a baghouse dust collector and desulfurization equipment. It can achieve ultra-low emissions. This complies with strict environmental regulations and improves the working environment.
Low cost
The Alumina calcination production line has a preheating system and a heat recovery system. To improve thermal efficiency to a high level. It significantly reduced fuel consumption and production costs.
Alumina Calcination Process
- Pretreatment and drying: the material usually contains 10%-15% moisture. The feed is fed into the drying and preheating system via a feeding system. During this process, it comes into full contact with waste heat and exhaust gas. This reduces energy consumption for subsequent high-temperature calcination and decomposition.
- Dehydration and decomposition: the material enters the medium temperature zone, with a temperature between 200℃ and 500℃. In this process, aluminum hydroxide decomposes rapidly, removing the water of crystallization from its structure. This process is occurring in the preheating system.
- Calcination: Calcination is the core of the entire process. The material enters the rotary kiln and undergoes final heat treatment at a high temperature of 1000℃-1200℃. A stable α-alumina crystal structure is formed. This step allows for precise control of temperature and time. Ensure stable product quality.
- Cooling: The calcined high-temperature alumina is sent to a cooler for rapid cooling. This is convenient for storage and transportation. And it can efficiently recover heat energy. This can significantly improve the efficiency of the entire production line.
- Dust removal: This is also a very important step. By using a highly efficient baghouse dust collector, dust in exhaust fumes is captured. Ensure that emission standards meet environmental protection requirements. The captured dust can be recycled.
Main Calcination Equipment and Technical Features
—— A rotary kiln is a traditional and technologically mature calcination equipment. It is widely used in alumina calcination production lines.
- Structure
Rotary kiln is a long cylindrical kiln. It is slightly tilted and rotates at a low speed. The material is fed in from the kiln tail at a high position and slowly moves towards the lower kiln head. The rotary kiln is lined with refractory bricks.
- Working principle
The material is added from a high point in the kiln. And slowly move to lower places. The kiln head is equipped with a burner. Hot air moves from low to high. High-temperature hot air exchanges heat with materials. The material decomposes and calcines during this process. Finally, it was unloaded from the kiln head.
- Technical features
1. Highly adaptable: it is highly adaptable for raw materials. It can handle highly viscous materials. It can also use a variety of fuels.
2. Stable operation: Its mechanical structure is simple, its operation is easy, and its technology is mature. So it has stable operation.
3. Good product quality: it has a long calcination time. It promotes full grain growth and stable product quality. It can produce alumina with a particle size of less than 20 micrometers.
