The most important point is that rapidly cooled limestone has a higher degree of activity and is of the best quality. The heat energy absorbed after cooling the limestone can be recycled and used to preheat or calcine the limestone, reducing the overall energy consumption of the production line.

Common Challenges in the Cooling Process

Low Cooling Efficiency

Lime from the kiln out of the temperature of up to 1000 ° C or more, if rotary kiln cooler cooling efficiency is low, the lime will not be cooled to the appropriate temperature, directly affecting the quality of lime.

Low Heat Recovery Rate

There is a large amount of heat energy in the lime after high-temperature calcination, the low heat recovery rate of the rotary kiln cooler will result in a waste of heat energy, affecting the recovery of energy for secondary calcination of limestone, and increasing fuel costs.

Uneven Cooling

Working Principle of Rotary Cooler

The high-temperature limestone is discharged from the lime calcination kiln into the rotary kiln cooler, where the cylinder rotates slowly under drive and the internal lifting plate throws up and tumbles the limestone. Cold air enters the cylinder from the discharge end and makes full contact with the limestone downstream or counterflow so that the limestone is gradually cooled down to below 200℃. The heated air is returned to the lime calcination kiln for secondary use.
